The EUFORES workshop on “The Green Deal and the National Energy and Climate Plans in France” took place online on Thursday 25 June 2020. The workshop was organized in cooperation with MP Barbara Pompili, President of the Commission for Sustainable Development and Territorial Planning of the French National Assembly, currently serving as Minister of Ecological Transition under Prime Minister Jean Castex.The event aimed at giving an overview on the French energy transition based on the European vision, in particular The French National Energy and Climate Plan, the pluriannual programming of energy (PPE), and the transposition of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) into national legislation.


Speakers discussed the importance of having an adequate budget to finance RES in France, tackling climate consumption and the social aspect of the energy transition, and developing different sources of renewable energies to reach an almost 100% RES scenario.
