Among our members are: Parliamentarians from the European, National and Regional Parliaments, renewable energy industry associations, companies and individuals who support the promotion of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.
EUFORES has two type of memberships:
Active Parliamentary Members
The members of the Extended Board are the leading MEPs on renewable energy and energy efficiency in the European Parliament and come from all democratic political groups.
Membership is free of charge.
Active suppportive members
Non-parliamentary members from the renewable energy and energy efficiency community – industry, scientific institutes, energy agencies and NGOs – all strongly committed to renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Past Presidents of EUFORES
The Board of Presidents, the organisation’s governing body, consists of three Members of the European Parliament (the President and the two Vice-Presidents) who are appointed by the General Assembly.
Theresa Griffin
Outgoing President
MEP, S&D, United Kingdom
President in 2019. Vice-President since 2015. Theresa was a Labour Party Spokesperson for Industry, Research and Energy. Due to Brexit – Theresa had to step down as EUFORES President on 28 January 2020.
Jeppe Kofod
Outgoing President
Former MEP, S&D, Denmark
President in 2018. Vice-President since 2015. Jeppe Kofod became Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark in June 2019 and as consequence stepped down as EUFORES President on 1 July 2019.
Claude Turmes
Honorary President
Renew Europe Group, Sweden
President of EUFORES from 2010 until 20 June 2018. From 2003-2010 he was Vice-President of EUFORES. He has been a Member of the European Parliament from 1999 to 20 June 2018.
Mechtild Rothe
Honorary President
From 2003 – 2009
She was a Member of the European Parliament from 1984-2009 in the PSE group and from Jan. 2007 until July 2009 Vice-President of the European Parliament.

A strong interest in and support of renewable energy is one essential core attribute of all EUFORES members.
All applications are therefore subject to approval by the EUFORES Board of Presidents.
