EUFORES has the honour to welcome Matthias Buck, Director Europe, Agora Energiewende, Berlin and Brussels, for an exchange on requirements for reaching the 2030 targets and how to shape EU energy policy to make EU industry more competitive.

“How can EU energy policy help to make EU industry more competitive?”
Agora has developped two promising ideas to trigger competitive energy costs in EU industries in the short term:
– “EU Accelerator” for the deployment of renewable energies
– Programme for the promotion of big scale electric heat pumps to replace fossil gas driven processing.
Matthias Buck will give detailled input to the two ideas and MEPs will have time to discuss the feasibility of these ideas.
In general, the EUFORES MEP Group will also exchange on the latest state of legislation and implementation on renewables electricity and examine elements necessary to reach important targets for renewables in the electricity mix by the coming years and how the European Parliament can ensure implementation and a steady roll-out of renewables in the EU.
